Letting you know the process we follow
A clear, independent
process from brief to
recommendation
Buying the right guitar should be enjoyable, not time-consuming or uncertain.
The Guitar Finder provides an independent, structured search service designed to give you clarity and confidence before you commit £000s
1. Define Your Brief
Start by sending a message via the Contact page. You will receive a structured written questionnaire covering:
- The type of guitar you are considering
- Budget range
- Tonal and aesthetic preferences
- New vs used tolerance
- How and where you will use it
- Any concerns or constraints
Once reviewed, we confirm priorities and clarify any details by email (or by a focused 20-minute phone, Zoom or Teams call for Deluxe package clients)
You do not need technical expertise — part of the process is helping you define what matters most.
2. Agree Scope, Fee & Timescale
After the consultation, you receive a brief confirmation outlining:
- What will be searched
- What you will receive
- The fixed fee
- Turnaround time (typically 3–5 working days)
Scope is agreed in advance and payment is taken before the search begins.
The service is fully independent. There are no commissions, affiliate links, or dealer incentives.
3. Independent Market Search
A focused search is carried out across:
- UK online retailers
- Independent guitar shops
- Trusted dealers and specialist sellers
Where practical, priority is given to guitars you can view and play locally. Each listing is screened for suitability, condition indicators, pricing realism, and potential risks.
4. Shortlist & Recommendation
You receive a concise written report including:
- A curated shortlist (typically 2 - 3 strong options)
- Comparative commentary highlighting trade-offs
- Key considerations (condition, originality, pricing, risk factors)
- A clear preferred recommendation
- Direct links and next steps
The objective is simple: give you structured, independent insight so you can decide confidently without spending hours researching.
5. Optional Deluxe Support
If you choose the Deluxe service, additional support may include:
- Structured questions prepared for the seller
- Condition and pricing review based on further information received
- Fair value benchmarking
- Recommended offer strategy, with suggested wording if negotiation is appropriate
- Post-purchase setup guidance
- A short follow-up after purchase
This remains advisory. You stay in control and deal directly with the seller.
6. You Decide
There is no obligation to buy. The aim is clarity — whether that means proceeding, negotiating, or walking away.
In Summary, The Guitar Finder helps you:
- Save time
- Reduce risk
- Avoid costly mistakes
- Buy the right guitar with confidence
I carry out the structured search and analysis, you make the final decision.
